How to use Wavewear: A Beginner’s Guide

How to use Wavewear: A Beginner’s Guide

What is Kinesiology Tape?

Kinesiology tape is used in various ways, primarily by athletes and in physical therapy, and is popular among those with active lifestyles. It helps to reduce muscle strain, alleviate pain, and promote recovery.

50% of 1083 physical therapists and trainers
warned about skin reactions/allergies.
These reactions can include redness, itching, or even blisters. Research indicates that prolonged wear often causes skin irritation.

WaveWear has similarities to kinesiology tape, but there are also distinct differences. WaveWear, similar to kinesiology tape, implements about 80% of its features but is easier to use and reusable.

What’s the difference between Kinesiology tape and WaveWear?

WaveWear provides you with the optimal level of compression that ensures both protection and comfort. The lifting action of the adhesive bio-silicone on the compression items relieves pressure on the pain receptors under the skin and makes it easier to eliminate toxins and excess fluid that may cause cramps.

However, like kinesiology tape, improper use of WaveWear can lead to side effects. Therefore, we provide WaveWear Guidelines to ensure comfortable and safe use!

WaveWear Guidelines

1. Ensure your skin is well-moisturized before wearing

Moisturizing reduces skin chafing on the areas with silicone bands. Pay special attention to moisturizing them by using lotion or WaveWear Warm-up Sports Cream.

2. Take 1 hour initially to get comfortable

Just like we need some time to get used to new shoes, the adhesive silicone may feel slightly awkward on your skin during the first 2-3 mins of wearing the product.

We recommend wearing it for a maximum of 1 hour at your first trial to allow the skin to adapt to the adhesive silicone.

3. Wear it for five hours at maximum

Begin by wearing it for an hour and gradually increase the duration up to 5 hours. For extended wear, take breaks to allow your skin to breathe.

4. Keep your skin happy: Take breaks and moisturize

Giving your skin breaks by removing the product intermittently or re-moisturizing can effectively prevent chafing. Reapply lotion or sports cream on the areas of adhesive silicons. Gently lift the taping silicon and reapply it to reduce friction.

A 10ml sample size is provided with product purchases, and a 200ml full-size version is also available for purchase. Get it at a cheaper price by selecting the cream as an additional item when shopping.

5. Discontinue use at any sign of discomfort

If you experience persistent itching or discomfort, stop using immediately and avoid wearing on wounds or inflamed areas. Consult a doctor before use if you have blood circulation issues due to high blood pressure, heart disease, or diabetes. Discontinue use and seek medical advice if any skin irritation occurs.
