Stretchable, flexible dry electrode with quality data
ElecSil™ is a conductive, stretchable smart e-textile for next-generation smart textile technology and bio-interactive electrodes.
Key characteristics
Skin-contact conductivity. No gel. No compromise.
ElecSil™ is a next-generation conductive silicone material engineered for soft, flexible, and skin-safe electrode applications. Developed by Wave Company, ElecSil™ integrates biocompatibility, stretchability, and stable conductivity, making it ideal for wearable devices that move naturally with the body. From EMG garments to rehabilitation systems, ElecSil™ delivers consistent signal quality without sacrificing comfort.
Performance under stretch. Even after more than 100 stretch cycles at 20% strain, ElecSil™ maintains stable electrical resistance. This durability makes it ideal for EMG wearables, rehabilitation suits, fitness garments, and other applications requiring reliable movement-responsive electrodes.

3-layer smart electrode structure
All commercial products are ElecSil™ A+B integrated textile electrodes, printed directly onto stretchable fabric.
ElecSil™ B – skin-contact layer (black). Soft silicone infused with carbon black provides gentle adhesion without irritation.
ElecSil™ A – conductive core (beige). Silver- and copper-infused silicone rubber (PDMS) delivers high conductivity and signal stability.
Fabric layer (spandex). Adds stretch, structural support, and seamless integration into garments and wearable devices.

How conductivity works
When connected to an external stimulation device through snap ports, ElecSil™ delivers electrical signals to targeted muscle areas for activation, recovery, or measurement. It is designed to integrate seamlessly into wearable garments for EMS, EMG, and rehabilitation technologies.

Biocompatible, adhesive-free wearability
ElecSil™ is engineered with user safety in mind. It meets ISO 10993-5 and 10993-10 biocompatibility standards, ensuring it is non-irritating, non-sensitizing, and suitable for long-term skin contact.
Unlike hydrogel electrodes, ElecSil™ contains no sticky adhesives. Users experience a clean, gentle grip on the skin without discomfort: no residue, no irritation, no degradation over time.
Use cases

Frequently asked questions
What applications is ElecSil™ designed for?
ElecSil™ is used in wearable applications that require electrical stimulation, haptic feedback, or biosignal sensing. It can be applied to EMS, electrotactile haptics, and biometric data collection such as ECG and EMG across sports, medical and wellbeing, education and training, gaming, and workwear products. ElecSil™ has not been validated for EEG, but you are welcome to try the standard electrodes on hairless sites such as the forehead.
How do I choose the right ElecSil™ model for my application?
The right ElecSil™ model depends on your application, electrode area, connector preference, and integration method. Different ElecSil™ options are available for biosignal sensing, stimulation, and garment integration, so we recommend selecting the model based on your required size, skin contact condition, and product design.
Stable conductivity under stretch
ElecSil™ maintains electrical performance even when stretched by 20% — tested over 100 repeated cycles. This makes it ideal for wearables that move with the body, ensuring reliable signal capture in real-life use, from EMG wearables to rehabilitation gear.
Dry electrode vs. gel electrode
ElecSil™ uses dry electrode technology, meaning no conductive gel is required. This allows for faster setup, reusable application, and consistent signal quality over extended wear — making it ideal for daily-use wearables and long-duration monitoring.
Compatible bio-signal applications
ElecSil™ is designed for EMG (electromyography), ECG (electrocardiography), and other bio-signal monitoring applications. Its stretchable conductive fabric integrates directly into garments for seamless, comfortable data acquisition. ElecSil™ has not been validated for EEG (electroencephalography), but you are welcome to try the standard electrodes on this page on hairless sites such as the forehead.
Biocompatible dual-layer design
Made from medical-grade PDMS infused with conductive fillers, ElecSil™ includes a silver-copper top layer for conductivity and a carbon-black skin-contact layer that meets ISO 10993-5 and -10 standards. It's safe for long-term skin contact and designed to be gentle yet effective.
Washable & durable construction
ElecSil™ is built to last through repeated use. It's been tested for machine wash durability (with both wool and alkaline detergents) and remains functional with or without Velcro skin attachment. This means lower replacement rates and easier maintenance in daily-use scenarios.
Can ElecSil™ be customized in size, shape, or layout?
Yes. ElecSil™ can be customized in size, shape, and layout depending on your product design and application requirements. Customization can also be discussed based on electrode area, garment integration, and connection format.
To proceed, please share your desired size specifications, drawings (if available), and the estimated order quantity. Our team will review the details and provide a tailored quotation.
Does ElecSil™ support snap, magnetic, or custom connector options?
Yes. ElecSil™ samples are available with different attachment options including snap buttons, magnetic buttons, or no connector, depending on the model. For product development, we can also support you by discussing feasible integration options and recommending compatible cabling or connector solutions.
ElecSil™ is currently not sold as a ready-made kit with pre-assembled cables and connectors on our website, but an official ElecSil™ kit with integrated connectivity is planned for release by fall 2026.
