In FITI's manikin test, our leggings pressed harder when the knee was bent than when standing (9.1 mmHg standing vs 29.0 mmHg sitting), so support follows your movement. Kinesiology tape gives directional support, but you have to apply it every time and it can loosen with sweat and movement. Standard compression presses fairly evenly and doesn't copy taping's directional pull. WaveWear combines both: adhesive silicone built into compression fabric.

In the FITI blood lactate test, the adhesive silicone garment had the lowest average lactate of the four garments tested, including kinesiology tape and a competitor's compression garment with non-adhesive silicone. Its largest gap was 35% lower than general compression wear at the 15-minute mark. In a peel test at Chung-Ang University, its grip was about 80% of kinesiology tape's. We have refined the AlignX™ pattern since those tests were run. The results on this page describe the garments that were tested, not every current product.

We can only tell you what we measured. The tests were small and each ran on a specific group: three healthy young men in the blood lactate test, and adults around age 70 in the 10-day K2 knee sleeve study. Results are averages and individual results vary.

How fatigue feels is personal. Your body, your activity and your environment all play a part. Blood lactate is an objective marker of how hard muscles are working, but how that translates into how you feel differs from person to person. The best way to know is to try it yourself.
