Wave Company Leads Korea’s Smart Fitness Surge into Europe

As Europe undergoes a digital fitness transformation, Korean tech companies are stepping up, not just to compete, but to lead. With smart, immersive wellness solutions, startups from Korea are gaining global attention and turning innovation into rapid international growth.

According to Data Bridge Market Research, Europe’s digital fitness market is expected to grow from $58.7 billion in 2023 to over $253 billion by 2031. This growth is driven by demand for personalized, non-pharmaceutical wellness solutions and a rising focus on preventative care and functional movement.

At ISPO Munich 2024, one of the world’s largest sports expos, Korean companies made a strong showing. Two Hands Interactive secured a $2 million export deal and began introducing its gamified fitness platform, DIDIM, to special education institutions in the UK. The platform was featured in German media for its role in engaging neurodiverse students, highlighting a shift in how therapy and fitness are delivered.

Wave Company also stood out with TracMe, its AI-powered fitness coaching system. Using the proprietary TracSil sensor, TracMe tracks and analyzes movement through wearable protectors, offering real-time, hands-free feedback. Its accuracy, simplicity, and broad applications in fitness, rehabilitation, and wellness sparked interest among European buyers.

Recognition at ISPO goes beyond exposure. As Messe München (the event organizer) stated:

“Products that meet real market needs, such as those from Wave Company, are not merely displayed; they are signed and deployed.”

Following major appearances at CES 2024 and MEDICA 2024, Wave Company launched Wavewear UK in January to target the British and European markets. Its presence at HYROX, a global fitness competition, further validated the brand's performance-driven smartwear products.

Meanwhile, larger Korean firms like Samsung Electronics are pushing the boundaries with AI-powered, IoT-based home fitness solutions designed to deliver tailored workouts and nutrition advice based on real-time data.

As preparations begin for ISPO 2025, Korean companies are no longer just participants, they’re becoming leaders, defining the future of fitness tech on a global scale.
